Internship and volunteer positions open at the Baltimore Jewelry Center. Scholarships are available for classes/workshops.
The Baltimore Jewelry Center is an educational nonprofit building a vibrant creative community for the study and practice of metalsmithing and art jewelry. We educate and inspire new and established artists, as well as promote metalsmithing and art jewelry to the general public through exhibitions, community and educational outreach. The Baltimore Jewelry Center offers a rigorous metalsmithing education while expanding opportunities for more people to learn metalsmithing. Located in Station North, we are an incubator for artists and an active contributor to the ongoing revitalization of the arts district. The BJC offers classes, workshops, and studio space rental to anyone with an interest in contemporary jewelry and metalsmithing. In addition to our education program, we have a gallery and exhibitions program and we help metal and jewelry artists grow sustainable business practices by offering professional development, sales opportunities, and a promotional platform. We also offer a residency programming for both emerging and mid-career artists, an internship program, and a robust kids and teen program. The BJC is open to anyone regardless of their educational or artistic background, and we provide affordable educational opportunities by subsidizing class, workshop, and rental costs.
