The White House Office of Digital Strategy uses digital platforms to amplify the President’s message and engage with citizens around the country online. From WhiteHouse.gov and the “We the People” petitions platform to White House social media presences on sites including Twitter and Facebook, the Office is engaged on a range of key issues.

The White House Office of Digital Strategy seeks a video intern to join it’s four-person team in digital every semester. The video intern is tasked with editing the weekly video series West Wing Week, which covers what happened at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue each week, and with some feature video editing and filming. There may be opportunities for intern-initiated projects as well. Video interns work on-site at the White House and the internship experience comes with face-time with senior staff.
* Film and Video major preferred
* Must know Final Cut
* Must have a working portfolio of student and/or professional work with demonstrated experience with typography, composition, and color
* After Effects experience is a plus
* Must be able to take direction and constructive criticism
* Sophomore education level or higher preferred
The White House Office of Digital Strategy (ODS) is seeking a design intern to join a three-person creative team. ODS design interns are tasked with helping make social graphics, infographics, charts and graphs, illustrations, and more to distill complex topics into engaging and public-facing products released across White House digital channels. The internship provides opportunities to hone web design, civic design, and communications skills as well as try one’s hand at digital strategy. Opportunities for intern-initiated projects may arise as well. Design interns work on-site at the White House and get face-time with senior staff.
Must be Sophomore education level or higher
Must know Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Abilities in Adobe InDesign is a plus
Photography and photo editing capabilities are a plus
Graphic design, Interactive Arts, and Illustration majors preferred
Must have a working portfolio of student and/or professional work with demonstrated experience with typography, composition, and color
Must be able to take direction and constructive criticism
Must be able to produce recommendations
