The Baltimore Museum of Industry collects, preserves, and interprets the industrial and technological heritage of the Baltimore region for the public by presenting educational programs and exhibitions that explore the stories of Maryland’s industries and the people who created and worked in them.
Museum Research and Collections Intern

Internship opportunities are available to undergraduate and graduate students in History, American Studies, Museum Studies, English, Art, Library Science, Archival management, Historic Preservation, videography, photography, and other areas of concentration. Students may work in one or more areas within the four segments of our collections: objects, photographs, archives and library. Internships may be scheduled throughout the academic year or over the summer.
The BMI Research Center and Collections storage is not fully accessible for people with disabilities. Interns must be able to climb stairs, lift 30 pounds on occasion, and use a ladder.
Marketing and Events Intern
Unpaid/Start Date: Summer 2015
Internship opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate students interested in museum fields. Student will assist with marketing, public relations and private event rentals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extensive knowledge of social media platforms a must. Ability to create marketing plans, track public relations efforts. use PowerPoint, Word and Excel experience is preferred.
