Internship Position: Design Intern

Position reports to Creative Director for the Medical Center and contributes to the design of all collateral materials (print and online) produced by the Office of Communications & Public Affairs, including the digital signage system. Specific focus will be on design production (including using graphics, photography, flash files, and some video elements). The Intern must be a self-motivated and highly organized individual who will serve as an effective, professional contributor to the Medical Center’s Communications team.

The ideal candidate is a college-level junior pursuing a degree in graphic design. The intern may receive course credit for the internship (subject to your school’s requirements) and will be hired to work 10-20 hours per week for at least one full semester

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Duties will include creating content, developing design elements for collateral materials, and more
  • May also work with UMMC Communications staff on other related assignments, including providing support for publications and design elements to promote various events
