The school system is on the cutting edge of educational innovation implementing programs such as a technology based high school and expansion of K-5 schools into K-8 schools. Mentoring represents one of the primary means of support for all new teachers. The new teacher summer institute is designed to help beginning and veteran teachers new to BCPSS acquire knowledge and skills needed to experience a successful induction period. BCPSS is committed to recruiting and retaining a highly qualified workforce, one that is continuously improving to better meet the needs of the community.
